Over Christmas I didn't open my laptop once and even though I admittedly didn't think twice about it, I've been meaning to sit down and write this particular post since Christmas Day! I literally can't believe it's February of 2016 already, I do hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year. Although I'm not too sad about leaving Christmas behind (I missed my fruit and veg), there is one element of the festive season that I'm not quite ready to abandon quite yet, and that's red lipstick. Generally, I do not touch red lipstick. Unless it's deep, burgundy red I typically have no interest in it; but on the 25th of December, it being Christmas all, I decided to throw a bright, phone box red on to get in the spirit of things. Needless to say some sort of Christmas magic must of happened because I have fallen in love with Max Factor's Lipfinity lipstick in Forever Striking and I have been wearing itching to wear it at every opportunity.

Even though I'd describe myself at being fearless when it comes to lipstick colours, bright red lipsticks are never normally on my agenda for one reason or another. This is definitely a slightly different shade of red than your 'standard red' as it's a tiny bit orange toned but I found this made it so complimentary and a beautiful shade for any occasion. I'm very pale at the moment and I love how this colour looks against my skin, but because of the orange/coral undertone I think this would also look gorgeous on someone with a darker skin tone; I absolutely adore the way corals look on darker girls, so I'd definitely recommend this to anyone searching for that perfect red. The finish of this lipstick isn't matte, it has a gorgeous subtle glow to it which I think is really pretty and gives my lips a perfect pout. For a while I was all about matte lips, like I wouldn't give anything other than matte the time of day, but recently shinier, glossier finishes are growing on me especially as we're moving into the new season. Okay I know it's only early Feb, is that too soon to be transitioning to new season?!

It wasn't just the colour that captivated me either; the formula is probably one of the most comfortable and long wearing I own. The comfort of lipsticks is so important to me as I have super dry lips and let's be honest, there is nothing attractive about lipstick over cracked lips so I love something that will nourish my lips and keep them clear of cracking or dryness. The moisture in this lipstick is so, so intense it feels so dreamy on your lips and because of how smooth it feels you really wouldn't except it to have much longevity, but when I say this is one of the most long wearing lipsticks I own, I mean it. Seriously, this lipstick survived drink after drink and Christmas dinner without showing any signs of becoming patchy. The colour did fade a little bit, but it stayed even and wasn't clinging to any one area. I have liquid lipsticks, waterproof lipsticks and long wear lipsticks that all last less time that this little beauty, it is honestly impressive. It's not often I come across something super comfortable and long wearing so this formula is just perfect to me and this is the first I've tried from this Max Factor range so I am eager to try more and create a bit of a collection as I really do adore it.
