A Must Have Palette: Tarte's Tartelette Palette

I love nothing more than an eyeshadow palette. It brings me so much joy to have a large number of shadows in one place and they are definitely so much easier to store and transport than singles, thinking about the palettes in my life makes my heart smile. Don't even try and ask me which palette is my all time favourite because I'd have a mental breakdown, that is not an easy decision to make. But, if I had to recommend one palette that every girl (or boy!) should have in their lives, I'd have to say the Tarte Tartelette palette without a doubt.

I take mine EVERYWHERE. You can tell as it's a little battered!

The gorgeous palette consists of twelve matte shades, all of which are pretty neutral and wearable colours. For me, this is the ideal every day palette as the shades allow you to create looks that can be both very minimal and simple, or something a little more dramatic if you fancy it. I've also found the shades to be really suitable for a lot of different people, not only do I use this palette nearly every day on myself, but when I'm doing makeup for other people I always end up using this, no matter what their eye colour or skin tone. The quality of the eyeshadows are absolutely faultless, I love the creamy texture of the shadows and I feel pretty much all the shades have a great colour pay off. The shadows in this palette are definitely some of the best quality around but I will say I always use an eye primer underneath my shadows, it honestly makes the world of difference especially if you have oily eyelids like me 😇.

Just look at that gorgeous big mirror!

My favourite shadows in this palette definitely have to be Bombshell, Wanderer and Free Spirit. I use the colour Free Spirit every single day to set my eye primer and if I'm having a 'no makeup' makeup that's my go to colour to apply all over the lid. The peach shade Wanderer is another one I can't get enough of and I tend to use it as a transition shade, but it's also a gorgeous colour for all over the lid. It gives a subtle warmth to an eye makeup look and this is one you will definitely love if you like creating soft and pretty makeup looks. My final favourite shadow in the palette is the absolutely gorgeous dark purple shade called Bombshell. This is my go to if I want to do something a little bit more dramatic with my makeup, it completely transforms a look effortlessly. If it's during the day I tend to just pop this on the outer corners and create a subtle smokey eye but if it's evening I will pack this all over the lid for a super vampy, smoked out purple look. This colour is so, so gorgeous and it's one of those shades that I think a lot of people are worried about experimenting with but when you do you'll realize there's nothing to be afraid of and will fall in love with it.

Even though I've only mentioned in detail three of the twelve stunning shades in this palette, you can see from the images there are plenty of other colours to play with in this palette and I can honestly say there are only one or two that I don't use on a regular basis. If you're looking for a palette that you will use every day and that is an amazing quality, I wholeheartedly recommend this palette to you. It's just such a versatile product and I honestly wish I'd bought it sooner than I did, I think if someone took it away from me now I'd be lost because I can't even remember what I used before I had this. I don't think you can actually buy this in stores in the UK, it was stocked on the QVC website for a while but I bought mine from Sephora so it was shipped from the states. That does make it a bit of a hassle to get your hands on but I would not hesitate to do that again if I needed to.

  6. This definitely looks like a diverse palette, nice warm tones for day to day looks but the darker tones perfect for a smoky eye. Would love it!
