Shade Spotlight: Purple

I'm absolutely obsessed with purple at the moment, every time I do my makeup I just can't stop myself from wearing it! Purple eyeshadows and lipsticks are my whole world right now and although purple is only one colour, it covers such a large spectrum making it easy to create different looks with purple makeup. I wanted to create a post talking about my favourite purple products right now, the ones that I have to force myself not to use every time I put my makeup on.

-Makeup Revloution Romantic Smoked Palette-

I am obsessed with this absolutely amazing palette; I love everything about it but I especially love the purple shade in it. When I bought this I wasn't really too excited about it, but if you watch me on Youtube you'll know that I can't get enough of this gorgeous palette. I've sworn to stop using it and now I'm like, "Ummm, what the fuck am I supposed to do with my makeup?!". The whole palette as a whole is very versatile and has both glamorous and wearable shades, but one of my favourite shades in the palette is their matte purple. This palette is only £4 and the quality is just fantastic and the purple is hands down one of my favourite, most wearable purple shades ever. I'd definitely recommend trying this for yourself as a single eye shadow from MAC or Urban Decay is around £13 and this whole palette is only £4 so you can't really lose really. Unless you really only have £4 to your name. In which case put it towards food and shelter. Priorities people!

-MAC Purple Times Nine-

Yes, this is a whole palette dedicated to purple eye shadow. I absolutely adore the idea behind MAC's Times Nine palettes are am definitely going to get more for myself; they offer such an amazing range of the same shade which I think is fabulous if you're craving a certain colour. Even though these are all purple or purple toned shades you can see in these images there is such a variety of colours in the palette. These palettes aren't too expensive for MAC eyeshadows (you can buy around three of their standard shadows for the same price) but don't be deceived if you are shopping for this online; the palette is very small and each shade is probably around half the size of a standard sized MAC shadow. Despite this, the quality of all the shadows is ah-ma-zing, I've never used a MAC shadow I haven't liked the quality and finish of and these 100% follow suit.

-Kiko Infinity Shadow in 248-

Unfortunately the original Kiko Infinity Eyeshadows have now been discontinued and as I picked this one up in their clearance sale I presume this exact shade won't be available anymore. I haven't tried any of the 'new' Kiko Infinity Shadows (I don't know if they are still being sold under that name), but I adore the matte formulas of this one. This is a gorgeous pale purple, and although on first swatch the colour isn't very pigmented, you can build it beautifully which I love as it means you can either create a sheer purple glow with this shadow or a heavy pop of colour; the choice is yours. These eyeshadows are very inexpensive and in the sale I got them for under £3 which is a complete steal and I'm sure the new range will follow the same trends in regards to price. I will definitely try to get myself some of the new range soon so I can let you guys know how their new shadows compare to these old ones!

-MAC Up the Amp-

A bright, purple lipstick is something we should all have in our makeup kits. Even if you don't wear it often, it's one of the best products to easily brighten up a look and make it instantly more vibrant and youthful. I adore MAC's Up The Amp; everything about it is just spot on. The colour is to die for, I can't get enough of its absolutely stunning purple colour which I love wearing for a day to night makeup look. The formula is one of my favourites ever, it is so, so creamy and nourishing for my lips (which are typically awfully dry), so if you're someone that does suffer with dry lips especially in these colder months, this is definitely a lipstick you need in your life.

-LA Splash Ghoulish-

This is one of my all time favourite shades ever, but I did publish a full review on this at the start of the week so give that a read here. In that review you can find everything you'd want to know about the gorgeous Ghoulish including swatches, so be sure to check it out.

-MAC Smoked Purple-

Autumn is officially here and that means the dark lipsticks are now out in full force. MAC's Smoked Purple is a stunning deep purple matte shade and is absolutely perfect for this time of year. I love dark purple lip at times over a red one because purple just gives a little bit more of a feminine touch to a make up look. I find a lot of MAC's matte lipsticks a little too drying but this one is actually a lovely formula and very comfortable as well as long wearing.
