Thierry Mugler Angel

Angel by Thierry Mugler Review

I find summer fragrances to fall in love with easy to find. Anything with a clean cut, romantic and fresh scent has me hooked which you can stumble upon effortlessly. Finding fragrance in the colder months is more of a challenge, I love perfumes that are feminine and warm but not too heavy; I don't enjoy spritzing a perfume and feeling like I've swallowed a mouthful of it. At the time of my search for some ideal AW14 fragrance, I was fortunate enough to have Angel by Thierry Mugler fly into my life.

The icy blue bottle and its sharp angles are an unusual, edgy but glamorous choice for such a feminine perfume, but not a senseless one as the scent of Angel evokes emotions of confidence, seduction and power; everything a woman could desire in a fragrance. The prominent notes of the fragrance are caramel, honey and chocolate which for me personally are ideal choices. The chocolate note is subtle but provides the elements of nostalgia and warmth that I crave in a winter fragrance, whilst the caramel and honey notes gives the feminine touch to Angel which is sweet but in a rich, powerful (but not overpowering) sense.

I adore the perfect balance of notes in Angel, it has the all elements of a winter perfume that I search for. A strong and seductive feminine scent is one that I covet after around this time of year; summer is a time for soft and dainty make-up and fragrance, whilst winter is when darker, bolder and more powerful accessories of beauty makes appearances. What I don't consciously look for (but almost definitely unconsciously) is a smell that I can associate with through nostalgia. A familiar, fond scent brings me closer to a perfume and allows it to reflect myself with ease, which is a factor Angel has that makes it stand tall in a crowd.

As we transition into the colder months, I look forward to spritzing Angel as the finishing touch to my outfit of a frosty evening.
