Apps Every Girl Should Have

Apps every girl should have
Apps every girl should have

What is a girl without her phone? And what is an iPhone without its apps? I think every smart phone owner can agree with me when I say that without your favourite apps a phone just doesn't feel like 'your phone'; It's like a house without any furniture in it. The other week when I thought I'd lost my phone, as soon as I replaced it a select few apps where instantly downloaded onto my new phone. Aside from the obvious Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, these are literally my go-to apps on a day to day basis which I couldn't imagine how I (or any girl for that matter!) could live without.

-FOTOR-

There are countless photo editing apps available and after trying a fair few of them myself, the only one I've found myself returning to is Fotor. I've actually never really seen people recommend or talk about this app on Twitter/Instagram which has surprised me as I've definitely found it the easiest photo editing application to use. As well as a collage creating feature, Fotor has a very detailed photo editing section, which I find super simple to use but really effective in making my pictures just that little bit more Instagram worthy. Plus you can instantly save and share your newly edited photos with next to no effort. Editing and uploading my photos has never been easier!

-GROUPON-

What girl doesn't love a deal?! I especially do and when I downloaded Groupon I was actually ashamed of myself that I hadn't had it on my phone sooner. When I say this I'm not exaggerating, I've never seen so many amazing deals in the same place. And trust me, that's a bold statement coming from someone that browses discount websites constantly. For me, the main thing that makes Groupon stand out from other discount websites and apps is the sheer range and volume of its deals. There are discounts on holidays, food, home wear, utilities, cosmetics, shoes, learning courses...the list goes on! I've opened the app as I've been writing this and I have in front of me a deal for a holiday to Rome (flights included) for £89, just to give you an example. Told you I'm not exaggerating!

-FARFETCH-

If you're planning a city break any time soon, this is your go to app. I don't know about you girls, but my main goals during a city break are shopping, sightseeing, eating and drinking. Farfetch gives detailed recommendations of places to see, shop, eat and drink in popular cities so pre-trip planning becomes a doddle. I tend to do a fair bit of research on a destination leading up to my visit (which is really just an excuse to read a lot of travel blogs) and I've found that like travel blogs, the recommendations on Farfetch are laced with both really unique and generic 'must-see' places. I find this the best sort of recommendation as you know what major sightseeing places to visit, but also you're able to find a gorgeous boutique down a backstreet that you would of never otherwise discovered. The 'Around Me' feature is a bit on the incomplete side if your not in a major city (in Brighton my nearest boutique was listed as being in Tumbridge Wells), but the City Guides make up for anything else the app lacks.

-PINTEREST-

This is one that the majority of ladies out there will already have on their phones or use on their computers, but if you don't...why? I absolutely love browsing Pinterest of an evening when I've had a manic day, I'm too tired to blog and I just want to sit down with a face mask on an relax. My favourite thing about Pinterest is that basically every topic in the whole world is available to view on it. If I fancy looking at home decor for one hour but beauty tips the next, it's no problem! I could probably sit on Pinterest for a whole evening just browsing pictures and gaining inspiration, I find it really gets my creativity flowing. I've heard some people also use Pinterest in conjunction with their blog to boost traffic. I haven't worked out the secret to doing this myself, but if anyone knows I'd love for you to leave a comment or any links to advice posts.

-STYLEBOOK-

I love planning my outfits. It's actually something I find fun and it saves me a lot of time in the mornings as it means I have a complete outfit hung up waiting for me, there's no fuss involved which I certainly can't deal with of an AM. StyleBook is a fabulous little app which helps me plan and store outfits so I can spend a day organizing all my looks for the week and have them available at my fingertips at any time. I can also store style inspiration in the app which I tend to nab off Pinterest or by photographing a magazine I'm reading, so all my inspiration can be in one place, which is conveniently the same place where I plan my outfits, so I can go back to my inspiration as I plan.

-FREE PRINTS-

This is my most recent application discovery which I've been pretty much thrilled by, especially as I've just moved into my new flat it's given me a great excuse to buy some pretty new photo frames for around the house. On the app you can select photographs from your phone's camera roll, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Yahoo and Google account then the prints are delivered straight to your door. Not only can you get your prints posted to your address but you only pay for the postage. All in all I payed less than £2 for my prints and they arrived in next to no time. I thought this was such a good deal, especially as you can waste so much time and money getting your photos printed at somewhere like Boots and I don't know about you but I get really frustrated trying to do it in Boots, the machine always seems to malfunction. The application is a fantastic alternative to all that faff and for next to no money, you really can't argue with me when I say this is a great app!

Ps. Don't worry, I found my 'lost' phone. The day after I'd spent £100 repairing and unlocking a new one...in my boyfriend's coat pocket; fab!

  9. These sound so awesome! I wasn't able to find Farfetch in the Google Play Store, which I was a little disappointed by because I'd love to explore my city, but it's possible that it's not available in my country (who knows). I'm really excited to give Fotor a whirl, I love a good photo editing app!
