Long eyelashes are what every girl dreams of. Every day I gaze longingly at my boyfriend's perfect long eyelashes and I wish mine were anywhere near as long as his. I'm taunted by the men in my life as they have long lashes; both my boyfriend and brother have eyelashes to be envious of, the lucky things! In the past two or three weeks I've been treating my lashes to two products that are meant to do wonders for eyelash growth and although I haven't been using them both religiously (I'd say probably about twice a week for both), I've started to notice a small but sure difference to my lash length.

I've been intrigued by a few adverts for make-up products that apparently grow your eyelashes, so I was excited to receive Colorsport's Rapid Lash-Gro Eyeliner* a few weeks back. The liner claims to create, "thicker-looking, fuller-looking and long-looking lashes in just eight weeks", which if you ask me is a pretty massive claim. This statistic is based on a trail where participants applied the liner day and night every day for eight weeks solid, which is twice daily over 56 days. I've been using it for a few days a week for probably around two and a half weeks, which is once daily for 5 days. It's a huge difference so I'll put my hands up and say I can't comment entirely on the eyelash growing powers of this eyeliner as I've only been using it for a short amount of time. But- and it's a huge but- in conjunction with the second product I've been using I have seen a little bit of growth in my lashes.

Recently I've been fascinated with natural oils and their beauty boosting effects. Around the time I received Colorsport's liner, I bought a whole litre of castor oil after reading endless articles about how beneficial it's for your hair and skin. I haven't actually been using my huge batch of castor oil on my skin - it's very blemish prone at the minute and I'm being really careful of putting anything oily on it - but I've been using it on my hair, eyebrows and lashes. One of the miracles of castor oil is that it is apparently meant to aid hair growth so I thought why not pair this with the Rapid Lash-Gro Liner to see if I could create the perfect Eyelash Growing Duo.

I've used both products for the same amount of time, roughly about two or three days a week each. The eyeliner I apply during the day with my usual make-up and castor oil I apply at night with a spoolie. In the short time that I've been trying this eyelash pampering pair, I'm pleased to say I have noticed a tiny improvement on the length of some of my lashes. My lower lashes and the inner corner ones appear slightly longer than they were previously, but apart from that the upper corner lashes currently look the same. The change is small, but within such a short time, I am impressed. I first noticed the change probably about a week ago, but since then the growth has seemed to have stunted but hopefully over the next few weeks they'll be more change and hopefully my lashes won't just be longer, but fuller too.

Whether one product is working better than the other, I don't know, but as a duo they are strong and certainly delivering. I'd love to know if you use any products to aid with eyelash growth, leave me a comment if you do!

  4. I may have to try this… I love longer eyelashes, I usually get mine stuck on at the salon, but recently haven't had time and they only last a month or so! Never heard of castor oil before either, so I'll be looking into this! :)
