Holi Festival

At the weekend my boyfriend, his sister, her boyfriend, their friend and I went to Holi Festival in London. Holi Festival of Colours is originally a Hindu festival but nowdays there are an array of Holi festivals around the world. The gist of the day is that you wear white and every hour, on the hour there is a colour countdown where the colour powder is released; you can imagine how it ends up!

In the morning the sun was shining, there wasn't a cloud in the sky so we were feeling pretty blessed on route to Stratford, but literally as soon as we stepped through the security I suddenly felt a cold wind on my legs and the clouds started to roll over. Lowe and behold after the second colour countdown the rain poured, poured and poured. We all got absolutely drenched and I felt so sorry for the boys as they literally just had t-shirts on (I talked a girl we were sitting with to let me borrow her jumper- hehe!). We did end up leaving a bit early because of the weather, but all in all in was a great, fun, messy, definitely a day to remember and something I'd recommend for you to put on your Summer to-do lists.

T-shirt- H&M | Shorts- Primark | Hair Garland- Primark

Ps. All these pictures were taken on my iPhone so please excuse the awful quality!

  14. South Africa hosted their first one 2 years ago and it was absolutely fantastic. Though I went alone, I actually had so much fun since I photographed the event. The dream of photographer - colours. Last year my cousin and I went and it was just as fun, not the overly drunk souls but it was worth it. Here is my post of the even if you are interested http://theallseeinglens.blogspot.com/2014/01/we-are-one-holi-one.html ! Lovely read :-)
