Bootea's 14 Day Teatox

The concept of detoxing has always been one that's intrigued me and in the few weeks leading up to my holiday I wanted to do a detox which would get rid of all the toxins from my body (before I promptly drink them back in again once I'm away) but meant I could still eat as usual. After an online browse I decided to try Bootea's Teatox and after being tweeted a tempting 10% off code the bargain lover inside of me couldn't resist.

There are two types of tea within the detox that you need to take a daytime one and night-time one. The daytime one you have every day, while the evening tea is only to be drunk once every other day so it's a straightforward regime to stick to, completely idiot proof.

Aside from being completely simple to follow, the actual concept of the detox being tea is perfect for anyone's lifestyle. It's easy to fit your teas into your routine, whether that means popping it in a flask to drink on the train to work or having it when you sit down to breakfast and to me the evening tea was like a wind-down treat at the end of the day. After a while it wasn't even like I was doing a detox anymore, it just became a natural part of my day.

As well a detoxing, after a diet where I lost a few pounds, I wanted to eat normally again whilst being able to maintain the weight I lost. The teatox is branded as being for weight loss and even I didn't take do the detox for that reason I can recommend it for weight loss as I ate normally (some days quite badly) and I didn't put on any of the weight that I'd lost back on, so if I'd be watching what I ate and controlling my calories I know it would have been a successful way to lose some pounds.

The next part of what I have to say about Bootea's Teatox, I don't know how to say politely. I'm just going to be upfront; you will poop. A lot. I know it's just all the bad stuff getting out of you, but wow, I didn't expect to have to shit as much as I did. They do pre-warn you, but I thought it would only last the first few days so I was pretty shocked to say the least when I was needing the toilet a lot more than usual over the past two weeks.

Luckily though, this was the only slightly negative side effect and it was bearable. The positive side effects definitely outweigh any negativity as my weight loss has been maintained, I felt more energetic and my skin looked in better condition after my 14 days of detoxing.

When I get back from holiday I will definitely be ordering another 14 days to lose all my holiday weight and to detox after a fortnight of drinking and eating too much!

  6. I've always wanted to try this but the word "detox" is a scary word when it sounds good but you know results in the toilet issue! I've seen another one online that claims to not have this effect but detox you - perfect for anyone with tummy issues in the first place. I like the idea of that one better, but I still want to try this one since everyone says it works so well!

  12. I have to admit I giggled a little when you mentioned shitting haha! I have a very sensitive tummy when it comes to mixing up foods, so although I'm intrigued I'm also scared to try it (might be best leaving it for the holidays) x
