L'Oreal BB Powder

As a girl with blemish prone, oily skin I am always moaning that I can't get away with just wearing BB cream as it doesn't give me enough coverage and the majority of the time, it just makes my skin look more oily. Well, the other day when I was in Boots I stumbled across L'Oreal's BB Powder. BB powder? I've never seen any reviews on it or even knew it existed, but I figured it would just be like a super matte BB creme, so I thought I'd give it a go.

In a post last week I mentioned my all time favourite powder foundation, and I've developed a kind of subconscious rule that my top layer of make-up needs to be powder, otherwise over my liquid concealer my face will just end up one big greasy mess. This of course applies to BB cream as well, so having BB in a powder form was really appealing to me as I could achieve the lightweight coverage without the added liquid. When I've been using this, it's been in place of my foundation over my concealer, blusher and bronzer. This way, my blemishes are still concealed and my contouring is still visible, I just have a more lightweight finish to my make-up.

One of the most important aspects of beauty to me is texture. Matte eyeshadows, glossy hair, smooth skin; we all strive for flawless texture. A word I've seen being used to describe a lot of beauty products recently is 'velvet', and admittedly it's been drawing me into trying certain products as the sound of velvet textured skin makes me so excited (sounds ideal right?!). This BB powder describes itself as a 'velvet skin beautifier' - bold statement! - but this product delivered it's claim perfectly. Although coverage wise this isn't the best product in the world, it doesn't claim to be a concealer or have any coverage properties, so it's not really a problem. The finish that it gives to my skin is gorgeous though: It gives the same lush silky finish as foundation, but is a lot lighter on my skin than any foundation I've used, which for me is the most impressive element of this product.

Wishes,
xXx

Ps. This also comes with a cheeky little compact mirror and it's own sponge, which I didn't even realize it had until after I'd used it a good few times, silly me!!

  1. Ohh this sounds nice, I might give this a go! I have just ran out of my current foundation and am on the hunt for another one to try! I am the same with my oily skin, but at the moment my skin is behaving and I don't have too much in the way of needing coverage :)
