Illamasqua Skin Base Lift Brightening Concealer

In the last few weeks I've been having an absolute nightmare with my skin. You've probably noticed my moaning about my skin quite a bit in my posts over the weeks and my spots are just not shifting, I'm literally at my wits end! On both my cheeks I just have a small cluster of spots which aren't big, red or sore, they look just look spots that are on their way out but they've been there for probably about a month now without any changes. It's really knocking my confidence and I don't have any idea what to do. I've bought a load of products specifically for spots and nothing seems to be improving my skin... help :( If any of you have any advice whatsoever, please let me know, I'm so unhappy with these things on my face!

Along with all my skincare purchase frenzy, I have also recently treated myself to Illamasqua's Brightening Concealer, I deserve a little retail therapy after all this skin chaos is all I'm saying. Due to my skin situation I've been trying to wear as little make-up as possible, but on the days that I can't avoid going make-up free (or I just feel sorry for my poor boyfriend looking at my ugly bare face) I wanted a new concealer that would make me feel a little more confident in my own skin.

This is actually the first creamy concealer I've used and I'm definitely preferring it to liquid concealer. I find the creamy consistency so much more manageable as a whole and this Illamasqua concealer a delight. With liquid I tended not to use a pump or the brush included with the concealer and would pour it onto the back of my hand instead, which at times would end up a bloody mess. On top of being less of a hassle to apply, the gorgeous consistency of this Illamasqua concealer is easy to build upon and doesn't give any feeling of heaviness or grease despite building.

I've also found it very to blend as it is so lightweight, I don't have to go particularly hard at it with my stippling brush but despite the lightweight aspect of the concealer, the quality of it's coverage is still stunning. I use concealer under my foundation and so it's important for me to have a good enough base for my foundation as I don't particularly like to use a heavy foundation and I've found this to be an ideal base; It barely clings to my fine lines and in addition my blemishes are concealed probably the best they have been by any concealer I've used.

So, I guess this blemish cloud does have a Illamasqua shaped silver lining as I've gained an amazing new concealer!

Wishes,
xXx

  2. Amazing review ! Thanks for linking me from twitter, it sounds fabulous.
I'm having problem skin at the moment too, the glam glow super mud mask really seems to help but it's pretty steep pricing xx

    1. No problem! I've had my eye on that for a while, I might have to go for it because my skin is super sensitive and blemish prone at the minute xx
