Have You Discovered? | Haircare

If there's one thing I wish I could tell (more like scream and shout at) my younger self, it would be "take better care of your hair". In my early teens I dyed, bleached and used heat on my hair relentlessly without taking the necessary precautions to make sure I was looking after it while I was doing this. Although I still use heat to style my hair, I always use a heat defense spray and my more recently I've been making sure I also use Umberto Giannini's leave in conditioner.

First off, let me just say how much I adore Umberto Giannini as a haircare brand. I have a number of products by them and they are all ones which I have repurchased again and again. They have such an array of haircare products as well for all hairtypes there is something for everyone. I don't particularly like scented skincare products, but I love scented haircare and unlike some of the other haircare products on my dressing table, all of my Umberto Giannini products have a gorgeous smell to them. The scent is not like Herbal Essences where they have a very distinctive scent (I love their honey and rose scented products), but it sort of like a perfumed suncream smell. That sounds pretty gross, but it just smells really clean and fresh, and I personally really love it... plus my boyfriend always compliments the way my hair smells after I use this, hehe :)

Having dry, fine hair it is a necessity for me to get moisture in my hair at every opportunity. I use a beauty balm on my hair at night, and in the mornings straight after I've washed it I apply this leave in conditioner with my heat protector, so along with protection I am treating my hair to bit of extra moisture as well. From the first week of using this product I found my hair was less knotty, easier to manage, less brittle and more silky and to this day I still feel that this leave in conditioner is helping the quality of my hair remain this way. Although there were amazing, quick results over the time of using it they haven't improved from those initial results in any way; they've just been consistent. This isn't a bad thing, but just a warning for anyone that does use this, the results don't improve more over time. Despite this, I think the fact that my hair has more shine, less visible split ends and is easier to manage is well good enough for me!

What haircare products would you recommend to me?

Wishes,
xXx

  1. Ooo I may have to give this a try. I got some Umberto Giannini products from a blog event. I love Backcomb in a Bottle, which I used before that anyway… I got their Sea Salt spray too, which is AMAZING. I'll definitely give this a try, my red hair always needs some love, so an overnight conditioner would be great!

  5. My hair is bleached so I am a huge advocate for hair treatments and taking precautions against damaging it. Because your hair is fine, have you tried the reverse hair washing technique? It's amazing!

  6. I abused my hair when I was younger, so much bleach! I've never used this brand but my go to for damaged hair has always been coconut oil and this hair mayonnaise that's meant for afro carribean hair but works wonders on dry hair :)
