Festival Eyes: Part Three

Ideal for: Holi Festival, Bestival and Creamfields

On Sunday my boyfriend, his sister, her boyfriend and I are going to London's Holi Festival of Colours, wooo! I'm dead excited and my last Festival Eyes post is ideal for festivals that are quirky, colourful and fun.

Like all my other Festival Eye looks I used my trusty 100 piece ELF palette for my eyeshadow. I'm completely devoted to my palette as it literally has all the colours I need for any style of make-up; with it I'm prepared for anything. The pink, orange and purple shades used in this look are one of the less loved shades in this palette as I don't usually have quirky events to use them for, but this is part of what makes festival make-up so much fun because I normally find myself experimenting with make-up colours and shapes more than usual.

Like all my festival eyes, simplicity is key. No one wants to spend a huge amount of time on their make-up the morning of a festival, and this look is easy but bold and fun all at the same time! I started by choosing my four colours and making sure that they were in pairs were slightly similar, like this:

orange + pink
light purple + dark purple

By selecting shades that come in similarity pairs, you have a eye look which is colourful and crazy but not completely miss-matched. As a rule of thumb I always keep my darkest colours on the outside of my eye to give the appearance of larger eyes, so the dark purple is used as the outside flick which really just gives a slight extension to the colour and opens up your eyes even more. Like my darkest shade on the outside, I also always try to use my lightest colour on the inside of my eye, and I've selected my purple colour pair so they actually match in colour but are different darkness variations, so there is still a bit of a colour theme stuck to which I can match to my outfit or accessories if I want to. Your colour pairs are completely optional, I just use my outfit to inspire and steer my eye make-up, so you don't have to use two exact same colours in one colour pair.

The second colour pair, orange and pink, are then used to fill in the eye to create a beautiful, bold, rainbow gradient of colour - yay! And voila, the make-up look is completed as simple as that. If you're an awful decision maker like me when it comes to your outfit and make-up, the longest park of this look is choosing your colour pairs, but once you have that done you can just pop it on your eyes and enjoy the rest of your festival ensured that you have gorgeous, eye-catching peepers.

This marks the end of my Festival Eyes collection, but I hope you enjoyed and if you are going to a festival this year have the best time ever and make sure your eyes are looking beautiful!

Wishes,
xXx
