Lazy Day Do

My first year at university is coming to an end; I no longer have to go in for lectures and I've only got one more assignment to hand in before I'm 100% done. I can't explain how weird it feels saying that, I can remember how nervous I was going to my first lecture like it was yesterday and now the first year is over...I find it hard to get my head around.

Anyway, in the last few days leading up to my final deadline I've spent the majority of my time at home (or at my boyfriend's house) doing work, only really popping out to run some errands. This means minimal effort on hair and make-up, and whilst you know how much I love a top knot, this is another of my favourite lazy day hair dos.

Perfect for lazy days or effortless glamour when going for cocktails, this chic twist on the classic ponytail only takes five minutes to do in five simple steps:

1) I blowdry my hair as usual
2) Straighten my fringe as it usually goes curly like the rest of my hair (annoying)
3) Pull my hair back into a ponytail, leaving a small section loose
4) Twist the loose section around the top of the ponytail so it's hiding the scrunchie
5) Then secure with a bobby pin, and finish with a light spritz of hairspray

And in all honestly this will probably take even less steps for you if you don't have an annoying, stubborn curly fringe like me! This is one of my favourite hairstyles to do as it's quick and easy, but it also requires a minimal amount of heat styling so your hair doesn't suffer damage to it, which is always a bonus.

Lots of love,
xXx

  4. I love this style, it looks great on you :) I do this quite a lot too, and it's amazing how just wrapping hair around the band makes it look like you've made more effort than you have haha xx

  6. Uni goes so fast. I've just finished my third year and it honestly feels like yesterday that I started. Hopefully my last year doesn't speed by. This is a great lazy hairstyle & looks like so much more effort has been put in. Definitely gonna try this

  14. Your hair looks really pretty like that. My advice for your second year of uni is to cram in as many internships as possible. It's the thing that seems to really make a difference when going to interviews after uni.

  15. So simple but cute! My hair is not long enough to do anything with - I shaved the side and trying to grow it back. Now brushed my hair over the shaved side and cut it into a bob.

I wish my hair was long haha!

I love the layout of your blog and the colours
