Have You Discovered? | Eyeliner

Around this time of year I love sporting a bright, fresh faced no make-up
look and one of my favourite aspects of this look is of course natural looking eyes. Apart from the fact this saves me so much time (and make-up remover pads), I love this look as it illustrates effortless, natural beauty.

Even though this is a simple make-up look to create, it can be difficult finding the right tools for it. Nude eyeshadow, check. Mascara, check. Suitable eyeliner? Hmm, not so sure. For an effortless make-up look you need an eyeliner which is subtle yet still effective. That means my raven black liquid eyeliners and thick black kohl pencils are ruled out. After much shopping, testing and deliberating I've found that my all time holy grail eyeliner for a natural make-up look is Bare Minerals Big & Bright Eyeliner.

In any aspect of make-up, colour is key to achieving your desired look and the charcoal colour of this eyeliner is ideal for perfect for this one. The deep grey shade is not too dark that it's dramatic, but dark enough to still leave a decent mark on your eyelids without appearing too obviously. In the image above I literally only have a slither of this liner on, but it is easy to alter the thickness of the line as this eyeliner is buildable, so you can create a darker, thicker line with minimal effort.

The packaging of this Bare Minerals eyeliner is also one of my favourites in my eyeliner collection. A twist end means I can easily control how much is popping out, so when I run it's easy to adjust it back to normal; Everything about this eyeliner is easy! One of my pet make-up peeves is anything in pencil form; once you've made it blunt once, it'll never sharpen to the same gorgeous point as before. Plus, has anyone ever tried to use an overly blunt eyeliner pencil before?! Splinters. That's the only word I have for that experience. So, you probably get the picture of how grateful I am for this beautiful eyeliner and it's beautiful, practical packaging.

Do you have a holy grail eyeliner?

Lots of love,
xXx

  1. A lovely post! I am a massive fan of bare minerals, I don't think I have ever tried one of the eyeliners though..
I don't have a holy grail eyeliner, just a lot of nice ones but none that would make me think I would never buy another one.

  3. After I found my Bobby Brown gel eyeliner, I find it hard to use other products because it is so amazing, however I recently bought a dark blue eyeliner from M&S which is random but it was actually quite good!
