Bare Minerals Original Powder Foundation

Every morning whilst putting on my make-up, a part of me wishes I could skip out on my foundation, but once I have it on I'm instantly stricken with guilt. Think something along the lines of "Sorry, baby, I'll never doubt you again. I need you!". Yes, foundation has it's hold on me. Being a teenager with bad skin I dream of the day I can get away with having only a smear of BB cream on, but until then I shouldn't push away the product that helps me hide my imperfections.

When I try a new foundation, there is generally a cycle that goes a little bit like this:
This is the best foundation EVER! I'll never have to use another one again.
Hm, my skin has felt a bit cakey the last few times I've used this.
Holy cow, I forgot how good this looks on my skin!
I HATE this foundation, my face feels so greasy.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else? The fact is, your skin as a whole will feel greasier at different times of the month, and if you're like me and you blame your foundation, well don't. Every foundation you use is going to feel crappier on your skin at certain times of the month, but at the same time it's important that you find one that is still bearable and makes you feel comfortable even when you're feeling your worst.

This is where Bare Minerals Foundation Powder has been a cycle breaking, life changing, smile creating product for me. Previously with other foundations, my skin has still felt and looked horrific when it's at it's most oily, but with this foundation I feel comfortable at all times of the month. The powder form of this foundation means I'm not slapping more grease all over my face whilst trying to hide my spots, so I can look after them slightly better whilst hiding them. Most liquid foundations are water or oil based so powder is a great option if you're like me and you have naturally oily skin and you need something to help your skin appear more matte.

I've also found that with powder foundation you need less on your face as it is easier to blend together to get a nice smooth, even coverage without building up the layers too much. I apply my concealer, bronzer and blush underneath my foundation and this Bare Minerals foundation is amazing at creating a flawless finish to my skin without completely covering up all my hard work. It literally is just airbrush in a bottle as I sweep it over my skin, it evens out the tone and texture of my complexion perfectly.

Lots of love,
xXx

  1. Great post! I've been thinking about buying a bare minerals powder for a while now as like you I have quite oily skin. Might take a trip to my local department store and pick one up.

  2. Haha, I haven't tried too many foundations, but I know that vicious cycle! My skin's been getting better as of late, so I can start slapping on the BB and CC creams, and ditch the foundation in time for summer. I'm really enjoying mineral foundations as of late (Tarte's), so I need to check this out!

  3. I have been wanting to try bare minerals so bad lately. It sounds like I have similar skin to you which is quite oily so feel this could be quite good for me.

  4. In the past year ive tried sooo many different foundations. From the dream matt mousse, liquid and then the play sticks. I also tried the foam! Terrible! I have been looking for something less intense on my skin so I can be one of those girls who just dab on some bb creme and some mascara and look gorgeous for the day.
I'm deffenatly going to go buy some of this and try it.

  6. I don't really use foundation- powder or liquid. They make my skin feel weird. But anyway, this one looks really good. I haven't tried any items from their brand yet. But I'll keep it in mind. :)

    1. This one is great because it barely feels like it's there in comparison to other foundations! I don't like anything too heavy on my skin xx

    1. It really does! I still use concealer underneath, but I would with most foundations. The bonus of this one is it just doesn't feel like I'm piling on the layers xx

  9. I'm a big fan of bare minerals, apart from the price tag! I alternate it with Benefit's tinted moisturiser depending on the kinda day my skin is having (and also to make each last longer).
