Beauty by Lauren Conrad

Something that I've been really interested in lately has been non-fiction books, mainly those that are beauty, fashion, food and travel related. In the last few days my Amazon wishlist has had some great new additions and I can't wait to share my favourite new books with you when I've read them! Then I remembered, I have a whole collection of beauty, fashion and lifestyle books already which I've never properly blogged about, so I thought I'd share my current favourites with you!

The first ever beauty book I bought was Beauty by Lauren Conrad, and still after all this time I open it up to remind myself of the great advice it has in it. Lauren Conrad's website was actually the first blog I loved to read, in turn a massive inspiration for me when starting up You Wish You. It has a huge variety in it's posts ranging from food to fashion, crafts and beauty so there is a bit of something for everyone. Like her website, Beauty also has a huge variety of sub-topics which all have a hand in overall beauty. One of my favourite things about Beauty is that it's not solely about make-up, it also covers hair, fitness, skincare and healthy eating, so it covers all aspects of beauty, not just cosmetics. In a way I love this because it is reminding you of all those little but important things that keep you beautiful on the inside and as you're looking after your inside, your outside becomes beautiful too.

There are many sub-sections in Beauty, so as you can imagine there is a lot of information to take in. Luckily, the book is very clear and the information is made really easy to understand! Sometimes my least favourite thing in a non-fiction book is a complete overload of information, but in topics like nutrition Lauren uses tables and images to make the info a little easier to digest.

Likewise, Beauty uses clear step-by-step images for her great hair and make-up tutorials. I adore the tutorials in this book, there is such an absolutely huge selection for all occasions which are easy to follow. There are also make-up tutorials specifically for dark skin and mono-lid eyes not only girls with the same appearance as Lauren herself so this book is great as it keeps in mind the specific needs of all women!

I don't want to give too much away by talking too much about this book because I want you to go out and read it yourselves, I really recommend it to all beauty lovers! To me Beauty is like the perfect beauty bible as it covers all the basics for hair, make-up and health but it also has some unique tricks inside that you'll be so grateful you found out.

Lots of love,
xXx
