My Valentines Day Menu

Valentine's Day is the perfect time to show your other half how much you love and appreciate them, and this year I am planning to treat my boyfriend to a home cooked meal as we have arranged a cosy night in this Valentine's Day. Last year, we went to a restaurant and although the food was delicious (better than mine will be) and it was an amazing night, I find that date nights in mean you can enjoy each other's company easier and in a more relaxed atmosphere.

I am not the best cook in the world, but I enjoy making new things, so I'm not going to over complicate the menu and I have chosen a meal that is simple to make but will also be something a bit different.

Hummus is a great for a simple starter and I know my boyfriend loves it, so hopefully this will go down a treat. I've chosen to serve my hummus with crostoni bread rather than pitta as crostoni has a gorgeous crunch to it and is light not stodgy like pitta can be, which is ideal for a starter. Topped with parsley for mild flavouring, I will also have cucumber strips on the side for a palette cleansing starter.

I'm so excited for this main, it is a great wholesome meal which I can't wait to cook. I love cooking steak because it is really easy and also delicious, and I've decided to give my steak a bit more of a kick with some added chilli butter. James loves chilli so that was something I thought would give my menu a bit of a twist as well as giving us both the chance to try something we'd never had before.

For desert I am making fudge for the first time! We both love fudge, and in accordance with my chilli theme I thought a chocolate fudge would go nicely with the chilli vodka I am making and be a nice end to the meal.

All the recipes are linked above so you can try these dishes for yourself, any day of the year.
What have you all got planned for Valentines Day?

xXx
